Privacy and cookies policy
Who we are
BASI Heating Ltd (“BASI”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our registered office and operating address is 500 Leeds Road, Bradford, BD3 9RU. You can reach us on 0800 980 6018 or at enquiries@basi.co.uk.
What data we collect
We only collect what we need to quote for and carry out heating, plumbing and bathroom work, and to run our business properly. Depending on how you contact us this may include:
- Your name, address, postcode, email and phone number.
- Details about your property and the work you want, including answers given in the online boiler quote and booking forms.
- Records of jobs, quotes, invoices, payments and any warranty or service history.
- Correspondence with us by phone, email or web form.
- Limited technical data when you use this website, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics.
How we use your data and our lawful basis
We use your data to: respond to enquiries and provide quotes; arrange and carry out installations, services and repairs; take payment and administer finance applications where you choose finance; meet our legal and Gas Safe obligations; keep service and warranty records; and improve our website and service. Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (or steps to enter one), our legitimate interests in running the business safely and well, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required, for example for non-essential cookies and any marketing.
Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary with: our employed engineers and office staff; boiler and product manufacturers where needed to register a warranty; finance providers if you apply for finance; payment processors; and IT, hosting and analytics suppliers acting on our instructions. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep job, warranty, invoice and safety records for as long as needed to support the work, your warranty and our legal obligations, then securely delete or anonymise them. Enquiry data that does not lead to work is kept only as long as is reasonably useful. A copy of booking confirmation emails is also held in a secure backup mailbox so we can recover your booking if our main systems are unavailable; backup copies are kept under the same retention rules and access controls as the originals.
Cookies
This website uses cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function, and, with your consent, analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control or refuse non-essential cookies through the cookie banner and your browser settings without losing access to the core content. We do not use intrusive advertising trackers.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above and we will respond within the statutory time limit. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would ask you to raise it with us first so we can put things right.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here, with the date shown above, is the current one.
