Cold shower anyone?
There is nothing worse than having no hot water when you are in desperate need of a shower or a long hot bath after a long day. Sometimes it is a simple fix, other times you need to call in the experts. Before you panic, try these five simple checks.
1. Check the power
Make sure the power supply is on and the fuse has not blown. A blown fuse can be a sign of a more serious issue worth getting an engineer to look at.
2. Check the supply
Make sure the gas supply is turned on. If you think there is a problem with the supply, contact your gas supplier right away. If you use oil, check the gauge to make sure there is oil in the tank.
3. Check the programmer
Make sure the programmer is in the on position and the thermostat is turned up high enough.
4. Check the pump
Check the pump is working effectively. If it appears not to be, call a professional to fix the fault.
5. Check the pilot light
Take a look at the pilot light. If it has gone out, consult the manufacturer’s manual for how to relight it.
If you have checked all of the above and still cannot find the problem, our engineers are happy to help. See also our guide on why isn’t my hot water working.
