Helping Yorkshire homes save money on their energy

The Energy Saving Trust has estimated savings of around £340 a year (and 1,500kg of carbon emissions) when upgrading from an old boiler to an A-rated model.
Savings from an energy-efficient boiler
Modern boilers convert more gas into usable heat, meaning more of your money goes towards heating your home and water. Boiler efficiency ratings indicate conversion rates:
- A: 90% and above
- B: 86 to 90%
- C: 82 to 86%
- D: 78 to 82%
- E: 74 to 78%
- F: 70 to 74%
- G: below 70%
An A-rated boiler wastes under 10% of the energy it uses, while a G-rated model can waste over 30% of the gas you pay for, a loss of roughly £30 for every £100 of energy bill.
Home insulation energy savings
Homes lose heat through walls, floors and roofs depending on age and maintenance. Beneficial insulation methods include:
- Loft insulation
- Cavity wall insulation
- Solid wall insulation
- External wall insulation
- Underfloor insulation
