Why bother with a boiler service?

When was your last boiler service? If you cannot remember, you are probably due one. Because you rely on your boiler to keep you warm, it is a good idea to arrange an annual service. At the time of writing, a full boiler service cost just £70 and was usually carried out within a couple of hours.
Prevent potential problems
- Catch potential faults before it is too late
- Limit wear and tear
- Prevent a costly, disruptive breakdown
Like your car, boilers are complex machines that need regular maintenance. Without proper care they can break down and land you with hefty repair bills. A service catches problems before they become serious and limits wear and tear, which matters most when the boiler is under added strain in the colder months.
Ensure everything is working efficiently
- A thorough clean of your system
- A test of boiler performance
- Making sure your heating is running efficiently
Your engineer cleans the inner workings and runs checks to make sure everything is at peak efficiency. Most boilers last around ten years, but only if serviced every year. An inefficient boiler costs you money every month, so it is better diagnosed sooner.
Keep your home safe
- Flue testing to make sure emissions are safe
- Gas pressure tests to check for leaks
A service is necessary for the safety of your home. At best an inefficient boiler raises your bills, at worst a neglected boiler could develop an undetected gas leak or unsafe emissions. A quick service provides peace of mind that your boiler is operating safely and efficiently all year round.
